Who we are
Nicolas Carpi - Founder & President
Nicolas started his career as an engineer at the Institut Curie Research Center in Paris, France. He soon realized that there was a tool missing from his daily workflow: an electronic laboratory notebook that could keep track of experimental procedures, materials, and results. To solve this problem, he created eLabFTW, an open-source electronic laboratory notebook. He developed eLabFTW as a side project until 2019, when the success of the software pushed him to create Deltablot to support eLabFTW and its growing community of users.
Nicolas’ goal is to create the ultimate ELN by providing high quality support and hosting to users while keeping the software free and open source. As a key part of this objective, Deltablot participates in various Research Data Management projects such as The ELN Consortium.
Sydney Koke - Customer Success Manager
Sydney has an interdisciplinary research background focusing on behavioral neuroscience, psychology, and contemporary art theory. She studied neuroscience at Duke University and the University of Calgary, where she focused on electrophysiology and microstimulation, and also worked as a research associate at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. She is interested in developing innovative ways to enhance the quality of scientific research, along with the experience of researchers, and is passionate about facilitating collaboration and communication within and between research groups.
As a published research scientist and academic science editor, she has helped thousands of authors to communicate their ideas. She joined Deltablot in June of 2024, and is excited to contribute to the scientific community in the role of Client Success and Community Manager for eLabFTW.
She is also a professional musician/composer, practicing visual artist, and contemporary art curator specializing in experimental music, underground culture, and optical holography.

His proficiency in both frontend and backend technologies allows him to build seamless, responsive, and scalable web applications. Moustapha’s dedication to problem-solving and passion for innovation make him an invaluable part of the Deltablot team.
When he’s not coding, Moustapha is always looking for ways to expand his knowledge, staying at the cutting edge of the ever-evolving tech landscape.
People we work with
Manon Stripes - UI/UX designer
Manon specializes in User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design. She has many years of experience working in the web communications industry and has accumulated a mountain of knowledge about various aspects of what makes online applications enjoyable to use. She designs dynamic and aesthetically pleasing interfaces that enable an intuitive and efficient user experience.
Marcel Bolten - Developer
Marcel studied chemical biology in Dortmund, Germany and obtained a PhD from ETH Zurich, Switzerland before moving to the University of British Columbia, Canada for his postdoc. In his research career as a biochemist, he has written many entries in paper-based lab notebooks. He has always been unsatisfied by the limitations associated with this method.
In 2020 he started using eLabFTW and was immediately impressed by the great freedom and potential offered by the platform. At the same time, Marcel started to contribute to the codebase of eLabFTW. His many years of experience as a research scientist, combined with his passion for programming, enable him to continuously add and improve features of eLabFTW, with a focus on optimizing the user experience.
Hüseyin Uzun - Video editor
Hüseyin studied chemistry in Mainz, Germany. His research focused on polymer chemistry, nanotechnology, and (polymer) analytics. After gaining experience in the pharmaceutical industry, he returned to research at the Goethe University Frankfurt. He has been responsible for the eLabFTW installation there since 2022. He trains and supports researchers both locally and nationwide. As a video editor for eLabFTW, he provides tutorials for users via the official YouTube channel. This helps users to better understand the software.
